摘要：Graph optimization problems focus on determining efficient ways to arrange, traverse, or analyze nodes and edges under specific constraints. These problems not only pose intriguing mathematical challenges but also have direct practical implications for enhancing the performance of systems modeled by graphs. Solutions to these problems yield valuable insights into system behavior, enabling optimized processes and facilitating a wide range of applications. This talk will cover several graph optimization problems within the context of social networks, specifically addressing applications in friending, influence maximization, and intervention strategies. Friending in social networks seeks to optimize recommendations for new social connections based on user behavior. Influence maximization aims at identifying key individuals within a network who can maximize the spread of information, products, or behaviors. Network intervention aims at altering certain behaviors of targeted users to improve the well-being of users. By addressing the above applications, this talk will demonstrate how graph optimization can deepen our understanding of social network dynamics and lead to more effective, scalable solutions in social, technological, and commercial settings.
